What is T beam steel?
T-shaped steel is a type of steel cast into a T-shape. It is named so because its section is the same as the English letter ‘T’.

Type of T-shaped steel
There are two types of T-shaped steel:
- It is directly split from H-shaped steel. The standard for T-shaped steel is the same as that of H-shaped steel (GB/t 11263-2017). It is an ideal material to replace double angle steel welding. It has the advantages of strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost savings, and light structure weight.
- Hot-rolled once-formed T-shaped steel is mainly used in machinery and hardware. The code for T-shaped steel corresponds to H-shaped steel, and TW, TM, and TN are respectively used to represent wide flange T-shaped steel, middle flange T-shaped steel, and narrow flange T-shaped steel.
