Simple Ingredients for Simple Strawberry Yogurt Bites

Vanilla Yogurt

I love, love, love using vanilla yogurt to make my frozen yogurt bites. There’s something really soothing and joy-making about a really good, really creamy vanilla yogurt. The sweet vanilla pairs so well with slightly tart, fresh strawberries for a flavor combo to truly delight. I also love it in this blueberry yogurt parfait for more tart/sweet deliciousness.

Fresh Strawberries

Speaking of fresh strawberries… I highly recommend using fresh to make your strawberry yogurt bites. They’ll be much easier to mash when making the easy homemade strawberry yogurt portion of this recipe, and they’ll be much easier to slice for the topping, compared to frozen strawberries.

Homemade Granola

… or any kind of granola you’d like. Sometimes, when I’m in a pinch, I’ll reach for a store-bought granola in my pantry, but mostly I like to use homemade granola. A few of my favorites include: vanilla almond granola, low calorie granola, gluten free granola, and for super big clusters, healthy chunky granola.

How to Make Homemade Frozen Yogurt Bites with Sweet Strawberries

First, line a muffin pan with muffin liner cups. Then, sprinkle a few teaspoons of granola into the bottom of each cup.

Mash the strawberries into the yogurt until well mixed. You’ve just made a super easy homemade strawberry yogurt!

Now, spoon this strawberry yogurt mixture over the granola. I like to use this medium scoop to speed up measuring out about 2 tablespoons per cup.

Then grab a spoon to smooth this layer. Sometimes, I’ll just give the pan a few taps on the counter to quickly and easily smooth out the yogurt. 😉

Press a fresh strawberry slice gently into the top of the yogurt, then top with a sprinkle of granola (or skip it, if you’re feeling like I did this day).

Lastly, chill strawberry yogurt bites in the freezer until firm. Now, pop out each bite and enjoy! You might also like my 3 ingredient Frozen Yogurt Bars.

Ingredients

Scale

Yogurt Cups

  • ½ cup granola, more for topping
  • 1 cup yogurt of choice
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, hulled and diced

Topping

  • ¾ cup fresh strawberries, sliced or chopped
  • ¼ cup granola, smaller pieces work better

  5. Press about 1 tablespoon of strawberries or 1 strawberry slice into the tops of each cup.
  6. Sprinkle granola over the strawberries, about 1 teaspoon.
  7. Place pan into freezer and chill until firm, about 2-4 hours.
  8. Pop out each frozen yogurt bite, thaw for a few minutes, then enjoy.

Notes

Storing Instructions: keep strawberry yogurt bites in the freezer in an airtight, freezer-friendly container for 1-2 months. Thaw for a few minutes before enjoying.
